Does anybody know where/how I can download Korean subs and lay them over English movie files?
Cheers. |

Just type the name of the movie or programme you are looking for into the search bar and hit enter. If it's a movie you downloaded, try and make sure that the subtitle file has the same file name as your downloaded file, as otherwise your subs may end up not being synced to the movie. Although sometimes it is not possible to find a sub with the same file name as your movie in which case it is pot luck and you may need to download a few different files and then go with trial and error until you find one that works.
After you download the file, you need to move it to the same folder as your movie file...and then (if it isn't already) you need to make sure the sub file has the same file name as your movie. Just right click on your movie file and hit rename, then copy the text, then right click on the sub file and hit rename, then copy your movie file name into the space provided.
Use a media player like GOM Player...it will automatically play the subtitle file with the movie. If it doesn't, just right click on GOM Player and choose 'show subtitles'. You will also need to change the font setting in preferences to Malgun Gothic in order for it to display Hangul....just hit F5, click on the subtitles tab and change the font from there.
Hope that helps |

Or you can play the file in Gomplayer, then use the search function to find the correct subs. If you can't read Korean, have a friend walk you through it once or twice and you should be able to get the hang of it. It's just a few clicks, and one drag/drop. |

And if you don't want to use gom player this little program can change the subtitle format

you can also use it to edit/sync the subtitle file, cut and paste it into excel/word (for class room stuff) |

Gom player is great for subs. Some of my students showed me how to do it, now I never have to worry about not having a lesson prepared! |
