Says the guy with the comic superhero avatar!
Seriously though, I can't take credit for my avatar, it was emailed to me by a friend, and I obviously enjoy it as much as everyone else does. I'd give credit where credit is due but have no idea who made it.
P you made my day, thanks! Those 'tribal' avatars are originals, done by me way way back in the day; They're inspired by Kwagiutl and Haida traditional styles.

The tribal stuff is great, forgive me for not saying so sooner. I lived in Alaska for some years, and have an affection for that art. I am very impressed that you drew them yourself. Is it frustrating to be an artist trapped inside and English teacher's body? |

You don't even know the half of it, mortal!
Um, well, I'm not really an artist so much as 'The artist formerly known as an artist' if you get my drift. I attended art school but have never sold anything. I've done some logos and illustrations and stuff for various employers but always as a sideline to my main function. I find I like working with digital formats rather than traditional paper and ink etc. but combined with never having sold anything it just amounts to mucking around.
I found having an artistic bent and being an ESL teacher was a great combination- I had a blast on the whiteboards and was really able to grab my students' attention and hold their interest. I don't think I could've handled being a teacher back in the days of chalk and blackboards [shudder]. |

I have both white boards and chalk boards in my room, drives me crazy...
Incidentally, my mother is an artist. Specializes in batiks, but does pretty much everything from painting to sculpture. |

Back in the (on the Blvd. of Linden...) day, I studied comic art. But I never got past faces. Those sinewy, taught bodies are hard -- no pun intended -- to learn how to draw.
I'm sure that somewhere back in Cananada there's a treasure trove of my sketches: Wolverine with constipated snarl. Hulk with constipated snarl. Batman with constipated grin.

Your website scared me- I was very apprehensive to click on "Little me"... was afraid it was a euphemism or something...
P.S.- love the 'home-made' panoramas.. there's a famous photographer whose name has escaped me right now who has turned similar montages into an art-form, and this is what they remind me of. |

Wow. A thread I started is still up on page 1 a year after I started it..(see anniversary thread).and so I stick out my tongue to those of you who have over 1000 posts...*)
I win the record of the longest lasting, most memorable thread. Ok now maybe I am trolling a little, slap my hand.
It is nice to see that I am remembered now that I am in Japan! How are you guys doing over there? I cant get on the web much, and (for the grammar police) I cant get my apostrophe to work on the Japanese keyboards...
Thanks for remembering me, everyone #my heart#
