I just picked up Street Fighter IV for PS3. I tried to get it yesterday at Yongsan but shop owners said they wouldn't actually have it until after like 7 pm.
Becareful when you pick up your copy, first place I went today said 90,000 won for the korean version of the game. I laughed in the guys face and walked off. Ended up payin 60,000 won for it (8,000) more than retail cuz all the stupid shop owners said they wouldn't sell it for retail price.
I hate this kinda thing...
Anyone else pick it up? |

How is it? Everything you imagined it would be? I have been looking forward to this one for a while. |

I ordered it from G-market and it arrived on the 12th. It was only 48,000 won. The Yongsan guys are claiming that it is 'rare' so they jacked the price up.
The game is awesome. The online mode is particularly good. I've never had a connection above 4 bars (out of five) yet, but I've noticed almost zero lag, even with a two or three bar connection. My favorite new feature is that when you are playing single player, you can allow other people who are online to challenge you as if you were in an arcade. The 'Here Comes a New Challenger' screen pops up, you play your matches, and then go back to playing your single player game. Seems simple, but it makes a significant difference to playing online.
On top of that, the game is really fun to play, the graphics and art style are great, and the difficulty level (even while online since you can match skill levels) is suitable for both beginners, and people who have been playing Street Fighter since 1991. |

The game is crazy!!!! I am in Australia now, on vacation, and have played it. I was walking down the street when I passed an aracade. I looked in and there was a crowd of people around a machine. I thought, ah, a new game.
Lo and behold, it was SFIV. I jumped in and used Ken, as usual. I was a bit rusty, but, I managed to beat 2 people off. Then, some dude rolled up and pwned everyone for the next hour. It was $2.00 a game!!!!
It was good though. They had the game on 50 inch plasma screens. It looked great.
I have to figure out the new moves though. There are like 3 of them (the stun move and a few others). I like this one much better because it doesn't rely on combos as much. Also, the combos that do exist are the old ones from way back in the day.
The game is phenomenal!!! |

The game is awsome!!
Its great for so many reasons.
The online play is amazing for the most part, and it totally brings back the arcade feel.
^^ go buy it now. Right now... |

The prices are all jacked up right now, even on G-market. I think the game was more popular than they expected (for good reason). A week ago the game could be found for 48k on Gmarket, now all prices are 99k. Bunch of jackals. If you look hard enough in Yongsan, you should be able to find it for between 55k-60k won. (PS3). If not, you'll probably have to wait a week for the prices to come down. |

Did any of you guys buy a joystick type controller to play this game? I can feel the Dpad on my xbox getting weaker from using it to much. I saw they had the Street Fighter IV joystick, but it was 170,000 won. Thats a bit steep. What do you guys use? And to anyone who got the SF 4 TE stick, do you feel it was worth it? |

I've got it on the PS3. Playing with the reqular game pad is okay. However, since I'm a fan of fighting games I've got a full size arcade stick as well. Three sticks were released. 2 for the U.S. and 1 for Japan. The one's in Yongsan you saw (with offical art) are the ones released for japan they are made by Hori. The official street fighter one released by hori is the same thing as the Hori real arcade pro 3, except that it has official street fighter IV art.
I have the Hori real arcade pro 3. I bought it last year for 89,000 won. They sell for about $100 plus shipping in the U.S. Any how its awsome. I ordered new parts for lizardlick.com and now mine has a bat top like in korean/us arcades, I got sanhwa buttons, and a octoganal gate... so its kinda like a us arcade stick. Anyhow its awsome.
I want to buy another one but like you said they are now selling the exact same thing for 170,000 won... or if you look online 280,000 won... crazy.
I'll wait until the hype dies down and hope to pick up another.
The us models aren't bad either. Madcatz makes two a $79 and a $150 model. However, the $150 model sold out so you need to get the cheaper one. I'm thinking about getting the cheaper on when i get back to the states and then switching out all the parts for nicer parts.

The second one is almost exactly the same as the Real arcade pro

I see, thanks for the clarification, I assumed the one in yongsan was the Madcatz TE, since it looked very similar. If it's the hori, then yeah, I don't want to go buy one now until the price goes down because no way am I gonna spend that much and spend more for the sanhwa buttons. I hate how prices here always are real high for something new/popular. |
