Koreans who can afford it often choose to have their babies abroad so their children can have Canadian or US citizenship, but maybe that actually says more about what they think of the value of Korean citizenship. . .

Koreans and a host of others only want the

Privileges...never the rights of a US or Canadian citizenship.

***

Seriously, how many Koreans of US / Canadian citizenship do you meet in Korea. If they love their "new country" so much, why don't they live there. How many kids do you have that have both Korean - US or Canadian - citizenship?

In the old days, people left their countries and moved permanently to the New World. They never went back.

Today, many people have US or Canadian citizenship. Tomorrow, they are back in their original countries never to return to the New World. When they have legal troubles in their original countries of birth, they scream "US Citizen". Pathetic creatures of selfish uselessness.

I do say, however, the Mexicans and Spanish immigrants to the US are quite different. They come to stay. Bless them.

They do not see a US or Canadian citizenship passport only as a travel permit.

If I had the choice, I'd choose to have as many passports as possible.

Exactly the issue right now in many western countries. Those countries are going to close up their borders and it will be deserved.

My wife hates the idea of small, quiet Canadian towns. I think she's foolish, but hey.

For the price of a nice apartment in Seoul you can have a virtual mansion in small town Canada. Jobs aren't really an issue for professionals.

Yes, but what do you do with your time? Stare at moose?

I'm in a campus in the countryside and I'm already pulling my hair out. I'm going to rent a place in Seoul and stay there on the weekends. I honestly can't fathom people who like the countryside.

Relax and not worry about traffic and smog for my kids.

Yeah, and watch moose.

including: quebec - la mauricie natl park, 2x, new hampshire, vermont, wisconsin, minnesota, upper michigan peninsula, across canada again - nope, nary a one to be seen - so if any of ya'll spot one - enjoy it because not everyone is so lucky!!

Ha!
There are about 54 million Koreans in this world.
5 million do not live in Korea.
2.2 million of these live in the US (1.9 million as legally registered
and the rest as illegal aliens)
Close to a million live in the LA metro area.

That is a lot of people not living in their home country, especially for such a relatively small number of an individual ethnic group.

You need to get your ass over to Newfoundland.Screw those other places you mentioned. The biggest concentration of moose anywhere in the world.Seeing a moose there is like seeing a cloud. You get very used to it.

If you're actually serious, D-man's right. I'd highly recommend somewhere along the highway near Placentia Newfoundland, sometime around dawn. My aunt drives back and forth to the city from there every day, and she sees a few each week.
