THIS LAPTOP DOES NOT WORK
The computer below was bought, but it no longer works. I took it to Dell support at Shindorim Techno Mart, and they said I would probably need to replace the mainboard. I called Dell support and they offered to sell me a new one for 350,900 won. I am not interested in spending that much for a laptop that just overheats itself. However, if you are crazy enough to do this, you are welcome to it. Make me an offer.
Otherwise, I am going to list the parts, and if anyone who knows what they are doing wants the parts, let me know. My email is [email protected] in case you can't post here. I am in Pyeongtaek, but I can bring it to you anywhere (Seoul, Busan, Daegu, etc...)

What do you mean by "it no longer works"? What happens when you try to turn it on? |

When I turn it on, it doesn't light up. I think that means it doesn't work
The led power light goes on, but there is no dos prompt or anything. I am sure the mainboard is gone. The guy who sold me it last year contacted me today and told me he thinks the CPU went. I don't know about these things, but it appears that the chip and motherboard are together as opposed to a desktop where you can replace one and keep the other.
I took it to DELL support and they tested the video side of it, so I don't think it is just a matter of replacing that part (which probably would have been a cheaper solution). |

Now folks are selling their trash here?
If you give me 10,000, I'll heave it into the Han for you. |

LOL, just because you and I don't know how to turn this "trash" into a treasure doesn't mean someone else can't.

Well, it may seem trash for some, but let's say someone needs a new screen, then it may be well worth it to get that one, don't you think so? |

I think 35k is a lot for a computer thats broken, I'd take up Soohak's offer if I were you. It is true that there is a market for selling broken notebook for parts , but if you take a look on ebay you will see that people frequently sell them for less than $10 although I suspect they make more by charging too much for shipping.
Notebooks can be difficult to fix.
I'd like to find a broken notebook to fix but I only want to play around with notebooks 14" or smaller. |

Believe it or not folks, I have had a few offers better than those listed here. I am trying to find someone who wants to do this right and go to like Dell support to work things out (unless the person is in the business of repairing) to make sure they finally get a working computer in the end before paying me. I want this to be fair. |

The only person who could make proper use of the screen is someone who has the same computer. I mean, hinges, fit, color, latch, etc... you can't just slap any screen to any laptop, and it's a widescreen, making it even more 'niche'.
Now...any parts would probably need professional installation, except the 'swappable' things - HDD, ODD. I haven't met many people here who have the ability/resources to change their own laptop screen, let alone CPU, GPU, etc themselves, and that puts you square into the position of the OP; probably at least 300,000 to have it serviced; it will probably cost 200,000 just to have it opened.
If you can DIY, then yeah, it may be worth it, but frankly, as laptops are very company-specific regarding parts, builds, designs....not much can simply be swapped out.
Meh. |

I agree with you, Demophobe, but as it turns out, after I made my comment someone sent me a message thinking I was the seller (funny mistake ) and was actually telling me that he/she had the same model laptop with a broken screen... so that might work for that person. |

Just replace the mainboard. My computer had the same issues about 6 months ago. Although I have an HP, it was the same. I replaced it. Now it works like a charm. |

Yea, but how much did you pay? Mainboard and service (without warranty)? I am down to one person, and it's the end of the weekend. I think am I going to Seoul soon to unload this paperweight. |

Roughly 200,000 won including pickup and delivery. It could be paid in installments too. It took 2 days. |

Well, as I posted, they want 350,000 won for the mainboard alone. It looks about right when you compare costs online. |
