So I torrented some Pilates dvds and have been doing a bit of reading up on it...but I am still confused. Do I just do the exercises/stretches, and that's it?

I watched this dvd today which had 18 exercises and it was definitely challenging, but is this just what Pilates is?

Can anyone give me some tips with using this program to my advantage? I am going to try to do it every day, and it takes maybe 15-30 minutes to do. I have some exercise bands to add to it if needed.

Has anyone used Pilates and can back it up with good results?

My ex was an instructor and swore that she completely changed her body shape. The idea being that by stretching your muscles and extending them your body takes on a longer leaner look. She used to do heaps of trunk exercises, so everything was based around her abs. She likened it to being a tree and your limbs being branches(!)

I notice when I do weights my body seems to contract - I guess this has the opposite effect. make sure you do the exercises properly and try to push yourself for 40 minutes. Good luck! Stick with it!

Thanks, I will! I've only done it two days in a row, but today when I woke up I swear I felt my stomach feeling a little flatter~ I know nothing happened but it made me happy!

Pilates was the man who washed his hands with Christ then made Him a crucifix.

Pilates definitely works. I was in great shape before screwing up my ankle really bad playing basketball a while back. To get my body back, I started first with pilates. I only did it for a month or two, but I definitely felt it! I would recommend it to anyone who's interested.

Everyone on Earth is now stupider because of the existence of this sentence.

(I was formerly aware of the comparative form of stupid, fyi.)

Are you sure you weren't referring to this sentence:

I am sofa king we Todd did.
