my current cell phone is going the way of the dinosaurs, so i'm in the market for a new one. I"m wondering which are the good brands. I've been told that KTF and Samsung Anytime are good. LG and cyon are bad and that i shouldn't get a motorola
I saw a motorola that i liked the design of, not one of the wide ones. It also had the option for english language menus. NOt sure if any of the other brands offer this.
Any advice?
oops meant to put this in the Q and A forum |

Check out Technomart in Kangbeong or Yongsan Electronics market. You'll probably find a wide selection of handphones that have English menu option. You can then do some comparison shopping with different retailers and brands. Take a day and do the shopping/comparing then take another day to decide which phone suits your needs the best.
Cheers dude. |

A friend of mine still in Ulsan got an LG flip-phone that had the ability to display it's menu in English.
When I lived in Korea (man, I preface too many comments that way now), I had both a Samsung anycall and then a Motorola. That darn Samsung always worked better.
There should be many more phones with English menus as an option now. |

I have an LG Cyon phone and its great. I love it. The phone has an English menu. The only thing that I can say I don't like is the instruction book. It's really a big book all in Korean except for about 10 pages, so I am sure that there are a least a few functions on my phone that I have no clue about. |

I've also got a Cyon. It's got the colour screen and English language option in the utilities menu. I can even buy a camera for it and take pictures. I got a deal on it too because the shop was changing location in Techno-mart.
There's got to be some type of electronics market around Ulsan. Koreans can't be separated from their hand phones and people like to find the cheapest price they can.
Look around, ask around and take a Korean friend with you to help you cut a deal.
Cheers! |

ulsanchris,
The Samsung always had better reception and thus the sound quality was superior.
The motorola was by far a cooler model to look at, but my bigger anycall worked better. I had 011 as my service, so, in my opinion, it had to have been the quality of the phone in regards to sound and reception. |

Koreans say Samsung is the best. Get the one with the megapixel camera/camcorder if you want to take photos. A lot of phones are on sale this month, but there seems to be a shortage of the megapixel phone. I am trying to buy one. It is only for SK now , but is supposed to be available for KTF by the end of the month. |

In Ulsan, go and see MR.Shin at LG. His number is 019 552 5555. He speaks reasonable English and will give you good advice regarding new and used phones. I have an LG with English menus and it is great. Most Cyons are now being released with English as well.
Best of luck. |
