After two great years in ROK, I am leaving to go to China. I worked for one year in a great hagwon, and today is my last day at a high school. Working there has beeen great as well.

I am leaving behind a great bunch of friends, and a wonderful girlfriend.

I am going to China. I dont have a job there yet, I will probably take a month off, kick back, learn some Mandarin, and look for something good.

To all the newly arrived teachers, go out there and have fun. Enjoy your job, despite the occasional frustrations. Get Skype, so you can stay in touch with those at home to ward off homesickness.

You are leaving behind a "wonderful girlfriend." Do you know that you probably broke her heart and made her cry?

Yep, I know, and its not like I am getting off scot free either. She will come for a visit in China in June.

She knows I dont marry, she knew that before we started dating. She knew I would leave, I made sure of it.

There are more important things in life than money. Love is one of them. Don't do something you'll regret. You say she will come visit, but let's be real. Once you move it will eventually fizzle out and die.

I wish I'm not so cynical... but love doesn't pay the bills or put food on the table. Confused

Befor coming to Korea I was single for 10 months between '86 and '97. While I dont do well pulling hot girls in nightclubs, I do alright in the other areas.

I am not hoping for a continuation, just a visit.

I am sad leaving her, but happy with my decision.

Nice D. Adams reference.

Also a pretty decent NOFX album, except for shoes.

She will have no problems finding another boyfriend, none at all.
