|
|
I am extending my contract for 3 months at the end of March. Will I need a new medical check and a new CBC to complete this. My director has called immigration on different occassions and heard different answers. Will it basically be a roll of the dice as to what office/person I go to? I teach very close to Konkuk University if anyone can comment on a visit to the immigration office closest to this school.
I have not left the country since I have been in Korea. Wouldn't it make sense that they could do a background check for this country then deduce that I have no record as I didn't have one arriving and have not left. If only...
Thanks for any help.

How long have you lived here? Do you have a PhD? Is Michaelambling your friend?
If your documents are older than 6 months, you might as well get new ones.
I just extended my contract until July. I got different answers from immi., so I just made sure to have everything needed: Notarized and apostilled CBC, and recent health check (done at a Korean general hospital). |

If you will have been with them for only 1 year, then...No, you will not need to do that. Your Director sounds like a Dor*. But then again maybe it is Immigration?
Go to Immi with your Director , have him/her take all the documents that they could imagine they'd need(minus any CBC or health check) and it should be a breeze. You could do it for up to 2 years total at the same place(I think) but that's it.
Have your Director call the man at immi 02-2650-6217 |

Why a magical limit of 2 years? Have you personally done this?
Camaroclow, you're asking for trouble if you follow this ill wrought advice. |

Yes, I'm sorry "Camaroclow." Don't have your Director call the number because "icnelly" said it's wrought advice. |

By any chance did you read this part:

or this:

I got different answers from immi. |
Now, care to answer my questions....nah probably not, right? |

I said "I think," that = opinion not exactly "advice" as you called it so before you call my "advice wrought," don't you think you should consider my entire post, thou shalt treat others aye? |

Guess the thread title could be better so the experts would know to come here and place an informative correct answer. |

If you are on an E2 visa and have previoiusly filed your CBC and health check, then you do NOT need to provide them again to extend or renew your contract with the same employer.
You will need all the other usual documents.
You can extend for up to 1 year at a time.
Somewhere, someone at Immigration should be able to tell you this. |
