so I have a job interview with a GEPIK school....are GEPIK pay scales pretty much set in stone or will I be able to haggle with the principal?
also, what other parts of the contract are open to negotiation? (eg. housing (allowance), vacation, etc.)

and another Question, if the school is hiring at this time (late March), does it mean someone who started in March is quitting already? or do some schools have contracts beginning and expiring in the middle of the school year?

much thanks in advance.

re 2nd question - probably means their previous ft is leaving, probably with an expiring contract.

for e.g. my contract began at the beginning of May. Clearly that doesn't coincide with the beginning of the school year (aka March). I came when the previous FT's contract expired.

re 1st question - clearly it's in the principal's financial interest not to pay you any more than he has to. If it's your initial term with them, I doubt you will have much leverage.

I heard the pay scale is linked proportionally to grammar and spelling ability.

Only if they have a severe shortage will they let you haggle.

Plus Koreans tend to cut off their noses to spite their faces. I doubt it, but feel free to try.
