can anyone recommend a good chiropracter in Seoul? with or without acupuncture is fine - preferably a clinic as opposed to a hospital.

I mention the acupuncture because I used to go to one in Jeonju who combined asian and western chiropractic medicine together - very good doctor!!

also no need for E as long as I have the tel number and train station it's near it will be fine.

Chiropractic is against the law in Korea but some people still practice it. Also some Gp's or Chinese med people pretend to be chiropractors.

I know of one properly trained chiropractor and he is in Seoul and his name is Phillip Yoo.

I am a chiropractor and would love to set up here but after more than a year of trying to get past the red tape I give up.

I know some very good chiros in Asia and will be willing to help with advice is you Pm me.

I dont know Phillip but I can confirm that he has a proper Chiropractic license unlike many Korean Chiropractors.

can we get an idea of prices? would like to go but only if they're comparable to the west. in the west fees are high enough as it is.

wow I didn't know it was against the law - the one I went to in Jeonju is also an herbal dr - he has a very big sign in E that says Chiropractor on it; he's actually the first one I've ever been to and did more for me in 2 sessions than 6 wks of pt back in the U.S. so whatever/wherever he's trained I'm all for it.

Is it illegal here because it's basically a quack medicine? From what I've heard, chiropractic is shunned by the medical community, along with homeopathy and reflexology.
I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade, but if you have a back problem it might be better to consult a properly trained medical doctor.

Please be wary of chiropractors. It's bunk science and most make fraudulent claims. Didn't realize it's illegal in Korea. I happen to know one honest chiropractor and his business failed because he refused to bullsh*t people. The rest will ask you to come back indefinitely so they can cure whatever ails you. Absolute hogwash. Buyer beware.

a chiropractor fixed the worst pain i've ever felt in my life. 20 years of skateboarding way too hard caught up, and dr. park in gangnam station fixed me in 5 visits.

"quack" or not, it works for some, and perhaps the real quacks are the donkey-dick doctors who are worried someone who went to school for less time than they did are buying nicer houses.

all professions have quacks - please - there are all kinds of people and people are drs so there you have it.

I have no idea why it's illegal in K but if might have something to do with no one has established a school here, there are no licensing procedures and no guidelines, etc. - so how could they make it legal if there was no board to certify people? once that does happen I'm sure the laws will follow suit, they generally do.

I did go see a dr, btw, and he is absolutely fantastic. I have the utmost respect for him and his skills and he has a very good office which includes massage therapy and physical therapy as well.

It's located in Itaewon, called the New York Chiropractor (or very similar, sorry, it's late) just about 5 minutes from the fire station, same side of the street, walking away from Itaewon station.

so first Itaewon station, then the fire station, then the dr's office.

I would be interested in knowing the chiropractors in Asia but I can�t PM you because I haven�t written 25 posts yet as this website requires. I don�t suppose you�d be able to PM me?

I�d taught English in Japan and Taiwan and kind of lucked out getting good chiropractors. Even though there were no licensing requirements for chiropractic in Japan, at least it wasn�t illegal (and there were DCs).

In both Japan and Taiwan I�d received treatment from other types of doctors (like acupressure and qi gong) and they were helpful, but without an actual DC, specifically in the area of biophysics and neurology, I�m pretty much s.o.l.

I was deciding between teaching in Korea, China, or Vietnam. I wanted Korea because the won is stronger compared to the US dollar and because the housing is paid for. But if chiropractic in Korea is illegal� Do you know of any good chiropractors in China or Vietnam?
