I'm curious, how many of you teach class from the Step and Jump books?
Normally, I would think that these classes are not that great because all your doing is being a human voice recorder. However, I teach at a small school, so I can go more into depth with the students to make sure they can read and understand the material.
I also know that every year the students are tested with the step and jump books, and one of my main goals this year was to prepare the students for this test and make sure all of them pass it.
But what does my school do? They don't have me teaching Step and Jump classes this year. Then I'm like, well whose gonna teach the Step and Jump class? My co-teacher is like, no one. Then I asked, well are they going to be tested? She's like yes.
Well my biggest concern is that if the kids don't do well on the Step and Jump test, I have a pretty good feeling that my school is going to put the blame on me. Because usually if something goes wrong and its related to English, my co-teachers points the blame at me. (Eventhough I had nothing to do with it)
What should I do if they come after me because of that?
Eventhough the Step and Jump test is months away, I want to start preparing now, just in case my school does indeed try to blame me for it. |

Could you voice your concerns to the principal or VP? I always try to put everything in writing, and if you could compose a letter of concern, or memo of sorts, addressing the issue, translate it to Hangul, and present it to your higer-ups then they really can't come crying to you if the kids don't perform as well as expected on the exams. |

The only people I know who teach step and jump deplore it quite venomously. However they work in some kind of travelling village where they do the same thing every single 2 hour block.
I'd say the kids were better off not studying the book, but it's a shame that they are going to get tested on it still. |

I don't teach from the books but the kids do have the books and they are tested from it (supposed to study on their own).. but aren't the dialogues in there pretty much the same as our textbooks? |
