Has the political situation with the South and the North affected how long you will stay?
I have already left because of the political situation and the way it's progressing

Best way to distract the North Korean soldiers will be to throw food at them. I'm sure many of them will be heading for McDonalds or Lotteria if they ever get to Seoul.

I've actually had this conversation with friends here in Incheon, and some were seriously saying that if asked, they'd stay and fight. I don't get that. Nothing against Korea, but thousands of foreigners died here already in one war, and they still hate/are suspicious of us. Would I die to save them? Not a chance in hell. I'd be on the first plane out (that I could get on. Come to think of it, I'd knock Derrek out with my Canadian flag covered backpack and steal his passport).

Anyway, I've been told by well-informed young female coworkers that if the North invades again, eveybody will take shelter in Busan and be safe. Rolling Eyes

The meanest thing we could do to them is to let them eat at Lotteria.

most of you if not all of you who say I will stay and fight and FULL of COW DUNG!!!

you guys would be out of here in a second!!!

because this war would not be pretty!!!! wont be a controled war like IRAQ
it will be one of the bloodest wars since vietnam..
if you have a chance to leave.. you will take it...

if you have a korean wife and child.. you telling me you would stay here and fight?? FOR WHAT!!!!????? you think the koreans will thank you!!!!???

stop talking S H I T!!! you are gone and you know it!!!

because the sad thing is North Korea will kick the war off with some serious attacks and it will kinda look like it it is winning until America shows the wrath of war! and shows the WORLD!! that America is not F U C K I N G around when it comes to war!!! they showed us in world war 2. and even before that during cival wars and colonial wars!!!

north korea will not go down quietly.. so if any of you people who have a brain and say they will stay and fight!! either you are korean! or you are full of s h i t!! you are signing your own death warrant!!

also the south koreans wont want to kill the north koreans because they consider them brothers!!! they will want Americans to do that dirty work for them.. only the military soldiers who are forced to kill will...
this country will turn into the stone age!!!!
might be some money to made after it though!!

I think this has been brought up before but this stunning little piece of poetry might give the 'stay & fight' contingent a moment's pause. The rest of us too.

*yawn*

And what of North Korea and King Johnny Illy's empire after that?

Nothing. Pure oblivion. Waste.

And fat little King Johnny Ill-boy dead.

That is precisely why he is all threat and no go.

I think the point the poet makes is that it would all come down after the 'preemptive strike.' Nothing left to lose. Blaze of glory. In a sensible world I wouldnt give it any credibility, but then we've got Bush's unstable worldview to cope with.

Nice story.

One problem. Within 10 minutes of such an attack, and ESPECIALLY within 10 seconds of a nuke launch aimed at LA, an American nuclear submarine would have delivered its entire payload at North Korea. Pyongyang, along with all the other major popilation centers would have been reduced to ashes before a North Korean tank made its way across the DMZ.

You really believe American response could be that nimble?

still gives them enough time to fire off their nukes in any direction they please before they get wasted,, does america want to take that risk?

There's a lot to be said about testing a missle over that great of a distance. Much less mounting a nuke on top of it and hoping it works. Multiple rocket tests were required for the USA and Russia to get their ICBMs to work and be on-target.

It wasn't done overnight.

And don't forget that many countries who launch stuff into space, and have for years, routinely have problems soon after the rocket leaves the launchpad. Imagine a country who has never even test-launched a three-stage ICBM getting it right the first time.

Just something to think about.

Pretty sure getting a gun would be the LEAST of anyone's problems if they stayed here to fight.

Me, screw that sheeeet. Me, my wife and kiddie would be outta here. The North isn't stupid, they wouldn't do a "first strike" so it would in my opinion be a war where America or Japan strikes first and they always give warning.

If my wife was worried about her family - well sheet tell em to head south and hope for the best.

Hope it doesnt happen, cause though I might be alive, my savings are tied up in this country.
