I fly "United" quite a bit, but I always look for the flights on one of their Star Alliance flights, such as Singapore Airlines or Lufthansa. Same price, usually the miles are credited to your UAL account (they did screw me out of my 5K worth of miles to SK), and the food is much better.
Best short flight ever? A short flight on KLM from Amsterdam to Zurich, good wine, tasty snacks and sandwiches and flight attendants were civil, stylish and classy.
Worst flight ever? Lithuanian Airlines in 1993...an old Aeroflot plane, spray painted/stenciled with Lithuanian Airlines on the side...how I ever made it Vilnius on that ride, I wonder..."where is the smoking section?" , "you want to smoke, smoke. you don't, ok" By the time it was in the air, we were all smoking and praying for a easy landing, as the take off almost knocked a few fillings out of my teeth

I love United. They're my favorite US carrier. I have a frequent flier account with them, though I don't have any actual status since I'm not that frequent a flier, but they've always been cool to me. On a flight from Munich to Chicago, I showed up on the wrong day (only flight I've ever missed, and totally my own stupid fault) but they got me on the flight anyway and didn't charge me any kind of fee. On my flight to Korea, my bags were overweight but they didn't charge me anything for that either. Plus, miles-wise, Star Alliance has pretty much all of my favorite airlines except Cathay.

United lets you pay for each leg of your trip for an economy plus seat which begins where the business seats leave off...more leg room and seats are bigger.
BT is BT store in the USA and you can go to the BT travel store to get tickets..but not from Asia outbound. |

I fly in and out of O'hare a lot, which is a major hub for United, so most my flights end up being with United. I don't have any complaints.

Northwest sucks. Hope when they merge with Delta their quality will go up.

I've had good luck with United so far, and oddly enough had relatively hassle-free customer service (changing flights, canceling tickets , etc. for no charge).

I booked through a travel agent with United, requested an aisle seat, then today I look at my itinerary online, and not only am I only in an aisle seat for the first leg, (meaning middle seat for the next 18 hours), but there is also a 2hr plane change that didn't show up before purchasing because the flight number doesn't change.
