Aside from the blackmarket, anyone know of any stores that sell boxes of Macaroni & Cheese? I know Costco used to have one of those big boxes, but they haven't carried it for months now, so I have this craving for Mac and Cheese, and it would be kind of cool to actually buy it on the open market instead of having to go the nefarious route.

next time - just use this search engine...
http://www.google.com/coop/cse?cx=006359271486458796786%3A_ooozypbm6u

If you had typed in "macoroni" into that search engine - you would have found this -

http://www.costco.co.kr/eng/whs_850.htm

Costco has 15-pack macaroni and cheese...

There's one near Mangu Subway station on the Jungang line (Northeast Seoul)

Not Kraft, called Annies but still good.

or buy it online from Ezshopkorea.com

I have an entire shelf full of the stuff in my cupboard! I know that doesn't help, but it is there! I had to bring it from the states.

ANnie's is not like Kraft. Do you people not have taste buds.

I buy it for 4,000 won a box from a lady who sells out of Olympic Park Plaza. it's extortion I know. But I need my macky fix every now and then or I would go crazy and start shooting people on the subway.

Just make homemade mac & cheese..it's tastier! My fiance is going to be pissed I posted this secret recipe here, so be grateful!

Molly's Mac & Cheese:

-Get macaroni and Zec crackers from corner store.
-Get cheese blocks (Costco, Emart, etc) or grated pizza cheese (also found in corner store).
-Get milk and spices. I like to use gochu, pepper, garlic powder, nutmeg.
-Get 9x9 Pyrex pan from Hannam Market or from Emart/Kim's Club. Whatever...just get a pan you can put in the oven.
-Heat oven to 180 Celsius.

1. Boil water (add salt and olive oil to water) and put macaroni in there. When finish, drain and set aside to dry a bit.

2. Meanwhile, grate cheese and set in a pan.

3. When the pasta finishes and is set aside, add enough milk to the cheese in the pan over med heat. (purpose is to make a sauce and not have the cheese burn)

4. Add spices to cheese/milk mixture and stir until cheese melts and creates a nice sauce. Should not be lumpy but smooth. To thin it out, add more milk.

5. Add pasta to oven pan and pour cheese sauce over it.

6. Smash the Zec crackers and put over the top of the mac & cheese.

7. Cover with tin foil. Cook for 15 minutes.

8. Yummy! Leftovers for at least 3 days Smile

MollyBloom, that sounds awesome! But the lack of a oven means I won't be making that anytime soon..
I saw some original KD Mac & Cheese at the HanDeun House (that foreign food mart by the UN Village) on OksuDong for about 3300won a box about a month ago.

OP, the black market is the only place that will have Kraft Mac and Cheese.

Hard to believe anyone would flame another poster over the lousy search engine. Typical long-term "know-it-all" who helps no one and flames anyone asking for help. Rolling Eyes

There's a store here in the HBC that sells it. It is, however, ridiculously over-priced and the owner is a smarmy little weasel. I would avoid the place unless you are seriously jonesing for the mac & cheese.

I haven't darkened that place's door since I told him off in no uncertain terms. He's a nationalistic little sh1te-talker with a twin wife who is seemingly half-retarded.

Some of you can probably guess where it is that I'm talking about.

Okay, thanks all. I know a place on the blackmarket that has it, but I was hoping to find it from a legitimate source, and a Korean market would have even been nicer. Before I posted, I looked into ways of making it myself, and unfortunately I don't have an oven because most instructions were for baked mac and cheese. I could probably get away with making it somehow on a stove top, but was looking for a short cut way. Wanted to exhaust those possibilities before resorting to something dangerous, like me cooking. Shocked

.Haddon House is nearby Oksu station (up the hill), but probably easier to find if you go to Hannam-dong, walk up the twisty road past the embassies and the UN Village, and when the road starts going downhill again you'll find it in the basement of a building of shops on your right (look for the sign). Haddon is bigger and the selection is better...

or just check out this site - http://wiki.galbijim.com/Black_markets#Haddon_House

The OP asked a question. If you have the answer, then post. If not, then don't post.
