I've been wondering about doing this for several years now. Looks really awesome, but a challenging effort to do it. This has to be one of the most funnest artsy things to do in the USA, if not the world. We're talking one really cool event, but it's not simply an easy spectator event where everything you need is for sale as it's a temporary microcosm based on a gift giving economy. Ultimate Woodstock? Ultimate Full Moon Party? Those who've been say they can't express the experience in words, but please give it your best try if you've been. You have to bring your own water, food, and supplies for the week and tickets cost around $200 to $300. It's August 31st through September 7th this year. Burning Man is the ultimate party and exhibition of freaky art cars and human behavior. If you haven't been, but want to take a look at what I'm talking about, google and watch Youtube vids.

I went a few times. If you want to go do it soon. Every year it gets more mainstream and there are more spectators than participants. If you dont feel like driving yourself an easy and fun way to get there is http://www.greentortoise.com/adventures/burning.man.art.festival.html

Yea, I hear you. Going mainstream where there are too many strict rules and the price goes up. The Green Tortoise tour is over charging considering the price of $340 and $410 does NOT include the Burning Man ticket and you want to get there on 1st day anyhow.

Did you use Green Tortoise? If so, was it worth it?

I have taken three trips on the Green Tortoise but none of them were to Burning Man. The three trips I did go on were all fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate taking the Green Tortoise to Burning Man. Its not cheap but neither is gas and they provide all your food and water so it would be an easy way to go without the hastle of packing your own food, camp stove etc.

I wish this event was 1 to 2 weeks earlier as I was inquiring about when I can take my Summer vacation and it looks like I'll be taking 2 weeks somewhere between last week of July and last weed of August where I'd have to be back in Korea on Monday, August 31st, the 1st day of BM. Crying or Very sad

Last year BM started on August 25th; too bad it's not this year as that would let me hit it up for the 1st 4 days.
