does anyone know how long from the date issued immigration will still accept your criminal record check? for some reason, i thought it was only good for 6 months, but a school that i'm applying to said that they think it's a year... would hate to hit a snag in the visa process because of something like this...
thanx |

Geeze third post of the similar vein in the last few days.
Well best to error on the side of caution. Start the ball rolling on getting new paper work. Wasting 100,000 - 200,000 won now is better then getting refused entry and/or wasting weeks in a panic with spending twice or more. |

does anyone know one way or the other, for sure?
thanx again...
skippy, you're right, and i'll prob end up taking your advice, as nothing is 100% when it comes to immigration here... |

I read Immigration's website silly.
http://www.hikorea.go.kr/pt/InfoDetailR_en.pt
Find the E-2 visa bit. I am copying and pasting from there.

Issuance of proof of (lack of) criminal records
o Consulates located in Korea cannot issue proof of criminal records to individuals currently.
o Korean government requires a proof of criminal records issued by the relevant nations government for its citizens to use for any number of international activities, such as employment. It will accept records issued by the federal, provincial, state, local authorities.
※ The document is valid for six months form Criminal background Check issuing date. Please check the local government resources to find out how you can obtain one.
※ If obtained through consulates in Korea, please refer to the list below or the local webpage. |

I was at Omokgyo on Wednesday and they told me mine was no good because it was over 6 months old. Don't make the same mistake as I did and listen to your school/company, they have less idea what is going on than we do. |
