SO I have worked at a Hogwan in Ulsan for about 5 months now. The boss is a complete micromanager, calling during classes to complain (about kids behavior or whatever else she may or may not see on CCTV), not offering pention, or medical (medical was guaranteed in contract) 30 minute break is non-existant, pay is usually late and without pay stub and the bottom line is, we just are not going to get along.

So, my question is this; What are my options? I asked for my LOR, but she always just says "I will think about it" and I never hear anything else. I want to stay in Korea, I wouldnt even mind signing another year long contract. I would like to stay in Ulsan, otherwise its really not worth it for me to stay. I was going to try and stick it out here, and may still, but having to deal with her everyday raises my stress level and most likely hurts my teaching.

Any suggestions?

Apply for new documents (criminal record check etc).
Once you have your docs, line up a new job, pull a runner...and come back.

Option B is to give your school notice, get shafted like an arrow and then do what I just mentioned above.

not offering pention

I thought all hagwons were required by law to pay into the pension plan. This is not an optional benefit, but is required by law.

The again, I could be wrong about this information

Apply for a new set of documents (CRC, Transcripts etc). Once you get them... go to the labor board and complain that she hasn't paid medical or pension. THey are both required by law. She will be fined. Then put in your 30 days notice in writing.
