Are there any rdecent gyms near hongdae??
(preferably a gym with sufficcient amount of free weights)

There are a load of gyms near HongDae. If you head out exit 5 and walk up the street a bit, you'll see some on the second floor. Think there's a big one in the SeoGyo Hotel, too.

There's a pretty big gym out the one next on the far end of HongDae Station that goes out near the DongYoDong Rotary, too, but that might be further away then you're looking for.

For economical (25K/month), you can wait for the registration period for the 'Culture Center's' gym run by the Dong/Gu. That is in the huge building in the alley right behind those apartments and shops down the road from HongIk University's main gate. It's near the elementary school. They have a swimming pool, too, but you have to register separately for that.

sorry but can u give any more information about the big gym around donggyodong rotary? a name or more specific directions? ive been looking for one near there

There's one lonely HongDae subway exit down by the DongYoDong Rotary. Go out that exit (don't know the number) and keep going straight. The gym will be on the second floor on your left. It's the only one around there.
