It turns out my GEPIK application was rejected by GEPIK, because my resume was submitted to them from multiple recruiters.
My current GEPIK contract ends in May. I have another recruiter who assures me, they can find independent GEPIK schools who will be able to hire me in May. GEPIK did say to me I can find a job through an individual school, and that would be fine.
I also have a lor from my current school already. I want to transfer to another school the day after my current contract ends, on May 14th.
Do you think I'd have any problem finding another GEPIK job by May, or do you think it will be easy? I was surprised by the multiple applications rule. It's rather silly. |

May is a bad time to be starting, the semester is 2 months in by then... Not saying it's impossible, your recruiter would know if they still have positions open, but it might be worthwhile to start considering other options too. |

I've just emailed a load of recruiters about my situation. I will wait and see. I suppose SMOE is an option. However, I've seen plenty of GEPIK jobs available, some of them must be independent, I hope! |

My new co-teacher is close to being gutted. We actually get on and I almost like her. |

I know SMOE has the multiple application rule - but haven't ever heard this about Gepik. Is this a new rule? |

I can't believe I'm actually offering advice that may directly lead to this guy staying in Korea but....
Why don't you just send in applications to EPIK or SMOE? It's not like GEPIK is the only fish in the water. Unless you are dead set on living only in one of the GEPIK regions, it seems like you could just get in contact with the EPIK or SMOE people and sign on with one of their schools now that you know about the strange multi-application rule. |

Thank you nate. I have some recruiters who say they know various schools who will hire me (GEPIK). If I don't find a new job in the next 6 weeks with GEPIK, I will consider SMOE for sure. |

Wow! I had felt bad about getting turned down by Footprints Recruiting prior to reading this. But since ESL Planet is willing to go through a practice interview with me and is holding my applications for SMOE, GEPIK and EPIK, I am glad that I was turned down. |

If you work for GEPIK already, why would you need to apply? They would automatically renew your contract. This doesn't make sense. Unless, I'm missing something here. |

As a current employee, I wonder if I can simply transfer through GEPIK.
I spoke to Dain and she talked about multiple applications and the rejection being due to those.
However, a recruiter told me the name of a recruiter who supposedly sent GEPIK my resume. I had never even contacted them.
The new lady at GEPIK who deals with elementary school recruitment is someone I intend to chat with. Another recruiter told me GEPIK are due to recruit for elementary schools soon, so would the 'multiple applications' rule apply there?
I think this is a conspiracy, maybe they're jealous of my TESOL certificate.
If I don't find a new job before the current contract ends, I will seriously consider SMOE. |

A recruiter has told me GEPIK will begin recruiting for elementary schools on April 10th. I could just contact them direct and be done with it.
I've contacted lots of recruiters so I suspect this multiple applications excuse could be used again. |

I just had my two recruiters send my application to SMOE. If I had read this post earlier, I would have just had one.
Should I be worried SMOE would reject me because of two of my applications coming in from two different recruiters? |
