You know, I sometimes have trouble deciding which is the best thing about Korea. Is it the barbecue? The extremely cheap taxis? Or the calm assurance that I get from knowing that everyone is slightly afraid of me at all times?
But no, those are not the best things about Korea. The best thing about Korea is these three sentences: "Its okay. I understand. You are a man." Has a more beautiful turn of phrase ever been uttered under the big blue sky? No, I think not. |

Yeah man...knowing everyone is scared of me is actually a nice feeling. It always assures I have adequate seating on public transportation and that nobody will try to screw me around. |

Ha, I've thought about that one before. If someone ever asked me "Why do you enjoy living in Korea", I'd reply "I like making everyone slightly unconfortable everywhere I go". Never come up though. |

I've always wondered,
I think it has to do with the spin and trajectory of the shot.
According to the looks of that shot, the cue ball should collide with the right sided balls aligned. But the bounce of the cue ball would indicate there was a rotating spin counter clockwise. So the white ball wouldn't collide,
But at the same time a counter clockwise spin of that ball should make the intended pocketed ball vere off course.
So it's a skillful shot because somehow the cue ball manages to spin back rotating both horizontall and verically to avoide the right side red balls while still managing to make the intended pocket ball.
I don't think that was a good explanation. |

Hi There,
Was I supposed to feel the same indescribable joy after being informed that I should cook all the meals for my (previously unknown, new) flatmate because he was a guy?

I was expecting something more along the lines of:
"Here is your last payment with your bonus"
"Flight number 1234 is boarding for departure."
And I wish that I felt funnier today, but I'm having an I hate the K day. |

When I first got here a friend told me his top three Korean phrases were:
Hello
Thank You
Let's take a shower together... |

I'm not sure what level of joy was appropriate for the situation, because there aren't enough details. I'd love to hear more about this. Was he serious? confrontational? petulant?
And, as an aside, have you ever once uttered in your life, "Its ok, you are a man." ? |
