|
|
I'm going to get a bank account in a few hours, I was just wondering if anyone had some suggestions or warnings. Like anything, some are better than others.
Last year I had Hana bank, which was ok, except the ATMs had a curfew and sending money home was a bit sketchy.
I heard Woori and KEB do not have curfews and you can send money home online. Any truth?
Thanks. |

I just like KEB for the internet banking, overseas remittence and their credit card. The foreign currency reserves at each bank also helps. Perhaps find the one closest to your work or home. |

Woori is near my house, KEB by my school. So KEB it is. Thanks!
One more thing....how is the internet banking to navigate? |

KEB is by far the most foreigner friendly in my opinion. They gave me an international debit card and most of the staff speak English, even in the smaller Daejeon branch that I use. |

It's in English. It has one of those Korean security programs but not that invasive. The KEB site has to be one of the most foreign friendly banking sites in this country. |

I have experience dealing with most of the banks out there and I have found that
KEB and KB are the most foreigner friendly and Shinhan is just the opposite. |

Shinhan had that repair period where its cards and ATMs wouldnt work for a couple of days. Hana, too. |

not only that, they won't give foreigners access to ATM and internet banking for the first three months, so that you have to visit during their ridiculously short branch hours if you want to withdraw your own money. |
