A Darwin Award waiting to happen. I'll also alert the people on Snopes.
Almost too stupid to be true. How about going to a White power rally wearing an Obama T shirt or go to a Hamas rally wearing an Isreali flag. |

I don't think it's that bad. South Koreans don't unanimously hate the Northern people. |

| If you're going to do it, go for the gold. In addition to waving their flag, also wear a "Dokdo is NORTH Korean" t-shirt in Korean. Kiss the nearest Korean female on the mouth each time the North scores and the nearest Korean male on the mouth each time the South scores. Don't forget to pull down your pants and serve yesterday's kimchi onto someone's plate. |

| Why not be a bit more subtle and stick the flag on your backpack so people can see that everywhere you go? |

So the game's tonight and I'll keep my eyes out for any foreigners waving around a North Korean flag.
Also, I've been told the North Korean chant is :우리는 *clap-clap* 하나다 *clap-clap*
Should be a good game regardless. |

ok, so I am going to the North Korea Vs South Korea soccer match this coming wednesday, and although I like to watch Korea win when i watch them play sports (bar playing against oz) I intend to support the North Korean soccer team, mainly coz well im stupid...
anyways, I just wanted to know(because i heard in public places u can't fly Nork flags etc) at the game if i will be allowed to bring a flag-albeit handmade-or if i will be put in lockup(which i guess will be good for my korean skills) so if anyone can offer me some insight into whether or not i can do this legally please help (and i dont really have the time to hear from people asking me why, i just wanna know if i CAN) thanks in advanced... |
Great idea...I'd like to offer some more helpful tips as well.
Whenever you go to Thailand for your vacation be sure to insult the king at every opportunity. And in the Philippines proclaim your support for drugs. And if going to China mock the ruling party in public on every occasion too. |

Yeah, whenever I tour the south I put on my big white coat and my big white hood and people get all bent out of shape. What the hell?
if I see on the news tonight a foreign dog waving a NORK flag for 2.4 seconds before getting absolutely pummeled. . . it will bring a smile to my face. |

Hey someone has to support the other team. I doubt too many fans will be makind the trip from up north.
I think you'll be fine. That is unless you decide to wear an Ichiro jersey while you're doing this.
I'm kinda rooting for North Korea myself. Mainly because I like to root for the underdog. |

| So what happened? Did they fight to a tie again, out of fear of offending the North before a missile launch? |

OP,
Did you bring the North Korea flag? I made a two sided flag myself. North on one side, South on the other.
I'd say for a soccer game it was pretty exciting. Final, 1-0. |

I can't think of a better place to post this question:
I am buying myself some new shoes for my upcoming foray into Seoul and English teaching.
There is a really sweet pair of converse (not the classic canvas) running style shoes. They have a big red star on them. Do you guys think there may be negative associations? They look really cool and I hear that finding mens US size 11 sneakers may be difficult.[/img] |

Considering how many Che shirts that are everywhere I wouldn't sweat it. I've been looking for some size 13 Chucks myself. |

NO!
Please spare us foreigners more of the negativity from the locals!
Don't be such a culturally insensitive sot!
You must squeeze your foot into a standard-issue conservative black loafer, never shined!
The fact they are too small is irrelevant because you must smash the heel panel into the shoe for easy slipping on and off!
Silly newbs; get with the program! |
