Controversy can only be good for Cohen, because IMO he's not that talented.
If he visibly pisses off one half of America, he automatically will gain fans in the other half. |

That's probably because you're judging him on the basis of the Borat film, which doesn't compare very well with other stuff he's done IMO - maybe because he needed to make it cruder and more obvious to catch a wider international audience. If you watched some of the stuff he's done for British TV, you'd likely have a different view of him, though to properly appreciate his comedic cleverness you'd have to be familiar with modern day British pop culture and its current affairs to catch the references. |
