Not a bad deal! Too bad the won still sucks. Oddly, if I had booked from my home town to Korea, it was over three hundred dollars higher. I used Northwest Airlines (www.nwa.com ).

Shoestring travel in Seoul had a slightly lower price, but bad connection waits.

I paid 1.8 million last year at the same time.

I'm not sure when you're leaving or where you're flying in to, but cathaypacific has some super cheap deals right now. Around 300 USD to LA from Seoul/Busan.

Usually it's difficult to get a good price after the universities get out for break. That's when things get tight. Mine is for after that.

Those Cathay rates to LA are nuts. Wow. Unfortunately, I am not able to get to those fares by navigating from the site. Not sure they are still offered.

Yeah, I got mine for about $700 over the lunar new year. There are definitely deals to be had out there.

There's an agency in Bangkok that's selling one-way tickets to San Fran/LA/Vegas for about 540 bucks on Philippine Airlines. I'll see if these guys can give me a price on a RT going from BKK to Vegas to Seoul. RT from BKK to those three mentioned possibilites back to BKK runs about 840.

In the past, I've seen deals that would have enabled me to go to the US from Seoul via Bangkok for less than going to the US directly from Seoul.

The planes have a lot of empty seats these days.
