No need to clarify your situation
Normal situation
You need a bachelor degree from a recognized University if you are not Korean
Unique situation
They are offering employment to people who are doing their bachelor, but you won't get a job inside Seoul. |

When they are offering employment for people doing their bachelors, is it legal for soph/19+ to be employed? If not what is the "legal" status you have to be in order to work legally. |
why don't you call the labor board. |

Whether you're Korean or not you need a degree. Of course there are lots of illegals. The youngest I've heard of was a 17-year-old Canadian who was teaching at a children's hagwon. |

I was curious when I heard about there is an legal age/ you must be at LEAST be in your junior year in college, in order to work legally at a hawgon ? Is this true? if not, whats the legal age?
I am currently 19 and a soph in college holding an american passport, any facts would be helpful.. |
You need a degree to work at a hakwon.
You can get a job at a public school under the TALK program if you do not have a degree...but your salary will be much much less 1.5-1.6 million--what's that, a thousand American dollars these days? ) and you will likely be stuck way out in some rural area by yourself without any other foreigners around.
Also being so young and not having a degree will encourage the teachers and students to look down on you and not see you as a 'real' teacher. If that should happen...good luck in trying to manage a class and install classroom discipline...especially (as often happens in rural areas) the Korean co-teacher is not there. Sad but true that in Korean culture your degree and age matter a great deal.
A much better idea would be to finish your degree...then you are more likely to find an employment situation that agrees with you. |

I'm 19 and have my bachelors and am applying to work in a hagwon. I've had a few interviews this week and no ones mentioned an issue with my age. My recruiter didn't think it was a problem either. |

Uh, if you are a genius, then you'd want to avoid working at a hagwon that will only steal your time. Get a PS or college job, IF you have a genuine diplo | |
