|
|
This just happened in the past couple of days and I have spent hours trying to get it to work. All of a sudden, everything says I am required to update my flash player (to version 10). Of course nothing works until I can update. A dozen time I get to the Adobe site, click update, click on "Allow Active X control" and wait but nothing. I never see the successful completion flash.
So, I now go into troubleshooting and download the uninstaller flash player program, run it and then download the Install Flash Player Active X .zip and run it. Nothing.
Then I try to reset my Security features in my Internet tools, try it again, and again nothing.
Running IE7, Windows Vista Home Premium.
I guess I'm not the only one; over a million hits regarding this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. |

Dunno if this will help but ive been trying to install flash 10 on 11 computers at school and several times it hasnt worked. The one thing that did work sometimes is to goto this address... http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/trigger/2/
Just above where it says "Important Message: You may need to click the gold bar at the top of the browser window to allow the install" there is a rectangle right click in it and and click th first option "Install active x control.
This has produced the best results in a sea of errors doing it other ways.
hope it helps |

Thanks, I will give it a go.
Funny how I didn't ask to be in this situation. One day I can watch YouTube for example and the next it's blank, asking me to update my flash player. I also tried to go back and download Flash 9 after I cleared 10 out of my system but nope.
Is there another player that will allow me to watch Flash that doesn't belong to Adobe or do they have the market cornered and I'm just stuck until they fix a patch or update to 11? I dunno. Kinda frustrating. But thanks again jon for your reply. I wasn't sure if anyone could help. |

I spent 10 hours trying all of the different methods to get flash to work, last time I bought a laptop. What a joke. I can get it to work these days though. Usually running the flash uninstaller then installing flash again does the trick. |

I'd try another browser for sites that need flash.
Firefox and Chrome are pretty good for viewing stuff without complications.
I gave up trying to install flash on IE. |
