By golly I've been in musical mood recently. In my new job, the sound system in my classroom is freaking amazing and I've been blasting music and practising my singing with microphone!

Here's a great bunch of songs any person of taste and discernment will dig:

Pet Shop Boys - Two divided by zero
Mudhoney - Pump it up
Tool - the patient
Devo - Beautiful world
Television - Elevation
Sonic Youth - Bull in the heather
Richard X vs Kelis - Finest dreams (best pop song of the 2000s)
Hole - Miss World
Guns N'Roses - Rocket Queen
Faith No More - Everything's ruined
Type O Negative - Die with me
Todd Snider - Talkin' Seattle grunge rock blues

Call me old fashioned, but I prefer to hear music rather than read about it.

Was it Bowie who once said "Talking about music is a bit like dancing about architecture".

Yes and no. Sometimes I just nail a song and sometimes I hit some bad notes and funk it up.

Songs in my ideal range would be Yesterday and Come as you are.

Friday evening. Week started badly. Got worse around Wednesday, before finally improving immeasurably today.

And turn it up.

^We should make that the official FT theme tune.

When it all gets a bit too much, I'm gonna play that.

*edit* This is beautiful.

Thanks for turning me on.
