What is/are yours?

My greatest is being tortured and killed by a serial killer.

Going crazy and being put in a mental institution is also another fear.

Mine is being crushed by debt, public or private. But it'll probably be public.

My parents dying. I know it's an irrational fear due to the inevitability of the matter, but still this is my worry.

Those are both reasonable enough fears I guess, shared by many I'm sure. The second one, not as bad, depending on the degree of craziness I guess and whether or not it subsides. I don't think it's all that bad really, but again, depends on how crazy. Now, ending up in Paul Bernardo's basement, that would be bad, or in the pit in Buffalo Bill's house.

Have you considered the odds of either ever happening? I'd say the first is extremely remote and the second very unlikely if you are somewhat sane now and grew up in a somewhat normal family.

Therefore, you need new fears.

We're a crazy bunch aren't we, fearing crap that never happens? Not much point to it. I could always be afraid of being hit by a car, but I'm not. Nah, my fears are more about what I actually experience, and they are touched upon in dreams. Public embarrassment is probably a big one for me. Terribly introverted, the social arena sometimes seems a bit of a battleground.

If we want to go into irrational fears, I guess losing limbs or senses would be there...but I never really think about.

Sea creatures: those giant crabs you see in the tanks outside restaurants freak me out. They remind me of the first Alien movie. I stay clear of 'em. Can't bring myself to even touch a fish, either. I don't eat seafood.

Ending up old and broke. 25 years worth of saving ahead to fend that one off!

I am afraid of hights and getting dumped, from physical and psychological aspects, respectively. Shocked

So does that involve the ocean?

I love maritime adventures, but there is something scary about not knowing what's under your body...

Good god, then your fear is infinite, beyond the mind of man to perceive.

Someone wise pointed out, however, it really isn't the unknown that one fears. Rather, it's a fear of leaving the known, of abandoning familiarity.

Something to consider as you go about scared of everything.
