Hi everyone,

I haven't posted here in awhile and still haven't made it to the land of morning calm BUT.. I've got a question that I hope one of you might be able to answer.

Has anyone lived in or is living in Sogang University dorms? or know anything about it at that.. anything.

I've applied for a scholarship, you see. The designated university is Sogang University and accom is a big issue for me ^^ ... the website shows very little of it and doesn't offer much information either. I'd really like to know more about it as I may be staying there for up to a year.

You're welcome to PM me.

Many thanks ~

You'll be in a one-room-two-bed situation. You won't be allowed to have alcohol on campus and there is a curfew.

I study Korean there part-time and there are several Sogang students in the class who live on campus. This is their consensus. Have fun! Very Happy

Those are just rules. I live in university apartments for another university in Seoul, and the official rules include no members of the opposite sex visiting (including to study), no alcohol, cigarettes, showering after 12pm, etc. But the students regularly get drunk and party with girls after midnight Wink

The curfew thing might be enforced by locking doors and stuff though.

One of my students is a former student of Ewha Women's University, and she said the security guard locks the door at her former dorm at midnight, and noone can get in or out until morning (save for emergencies). There's no requirement to be in the building though; lots of people stay out partying until the doors open in the morning.

No matter your age or status, uni dorms have rules made for high school kids.

Not to mention it's common to have chains on the doors at night, a big fire hazard.

I taught a summer camp in public schools where we stayed at a remote uni for 3 weeks. Nothing was mentioned to us about curfew, and the uni tried to impose one on us (we were not even working for the uni). We simply told the public school admins we would leave immediately and not finish the camp if that was the case. Nothing was ever said about it again.

I stayed in Kyunghee university dorms for a month where students got a swipe key. No curfew seemed to be in place.

Chains?! what if I get hungry?? T_T ..

I wonder if there is a discount for hotel regulars..
