Ordering official transcripts should be such an easy thing to do. Some of these Universities are ridiculous.
I went to a Canadian University. They will only issue me transcripts that are "Issue to Student", not official.
This is a huge hassle. They can send official ones to other Universities or agencies, but won't send them to me.
I need two official transcripts for the school I'm going to work for and another one for the Korean Consulate visa process.
Has anyone else had issues in getting official transcripts sent to you??
If so, what did you do? Do the "issue to student" transcripts work or are they garbage? |

They're supposed to be able to give you official transcripts in envelopes with a university stamp to show it's sealed. All universities do this for their graduates. They sure are disrespecting you big time after you spent thousands of dollars and years of your life to deny you of official sealed transcripts to allow you a job unless you have an encumbrance due to owing them money. Whoever is working your registrars office is an idiot if you in fact have no encumbrance on file. Go up on this issue by requesting to speak with their boss. If their boss doesn't do the right thing, keep going up until you get your official sealed transcripts. Helps greatly if your home to do it in person.
Incompetent idiots run the gamut of administrative jobs so often times we have to go up chain on an issue. |

^^ This. Go back there, and tell them how much CASH MONEY you paid to go to school there, and that their self-imposed bureaucracy means precisely dick. Go to your Director of Student Services. Go to the Dean of Students.
Like Tony Soprano said, "You gotta go back there." |

I know in the US at least its a requirement they provide sealed transcripts. Its a idiotic thing if they do not. Most employers (at home and abroad) required SEALED transcripts. Thats the way it works. I can see them taking their sweet time but outright saying no, thats ridiculous. You need to change their minds for them. |

The "Issued to student" mark is common if you are getting them yourself. You should still be able to get them in a sealed envelope and be fine. It's still official enough for Korea since it's sealed and from the university. |

Go to your University's website and search for the "Transcript Request" form. Print it out, fill it out, fax it back--they want your signature for authorization. Figure out a way to pay for them... mail a check and the request form, but it's easiest to call the Registrar with your debit/credit card number.* And walla... they'll be in the mail as soon as the snail can get it there on the slow boat to China.
*Your mom can call and pay for them for you. |

I can order them online, and there are several options. I can order them for myself in an envelope, send them to someone else, pay extra for fast shipping, etc.
Just wanted to defend Canada. |

I don't understand this. My university (Carleton) will give you five official transcripts at a time for free. They'll put them in individual envelopes, stamped and signed over the fold without blinking an eye. I've made multiple requests and they never give me any grief.
What university did you go to? |

What if you put your address (or a friend's address) as an agency?
