Thanks for that, zen., though I have no idea who you are.

There isn't really much to look beyond. A little self-awareness and the recognition that people everywhere in the world are mostly pretty similar really, despite the various languages and so on. Somehow I get the feeling few people grasp this, and carry on as though we are so different, with all our silly beliefs, our stupid gods and opinions, our insane nationalism and generally contemptuous attitudes towards so many in other countries. These things are killing any hope of a simple realization that people everywhere are not that different. They get hungry, sick, die, feel pleasure and pain. Why all the separation and division? I have no idea. The conflicts within a person are manifest without, so we'll continue killing each other in fact and in belief, in nonsensical ideology.

And you can feel this, simply in the way you are regarded and treated by people in other countries, who for some reason regard you as so different because you are foreign to them. It's time for this to end, but the narrowness of most people will not let that happen.
