Anyone use an electric shaver. I have had 3. Even a really expensive one I got as a gift never got close enough. Who uses those things? |

That's probably what I should switch to then. |

I shave approximately every 8-10 days.....anyone else do something similar. I hate shaving to be honest and you can get away with it here more than back home. |

I would suggest getting a sideburn trimmer. I used to have a 3 rotary blade razor with a sideburn trimmer and I only used the trimmer. It will give you a nice, shorter length and you can shape your beard that way. |

The price for the 16-pack of Mach 3 in Costco is hard to beat........that 16-pack can last me the guts of a year!!
Even though I hate hate hate being a customer of the horrible Gillette corporation, I haven't had a decent shave from other brands, so I'm stuck with them.
But, I'll give anything a try.
Nowadays, I'm letting the mustache and chin hair grow.........baseball player style........just trimming once a week with the same clippers we use for the dog!!!
Only having to shave the jowls and lower neck really saves on the razors....... |

What's wrong with Gillette? Honestly I have no idea. |

I had the Dorco 6 blades, but they were both less comfortable than the Gilette Sensor, and didn't last as long. There was also a problem with the head being too fat near the top, so it was hard to shave the part right under my nose without leaving unshaved hairs.
I went back to Gillette. They are expensive, but I can leave the blades in for weeks. |

I shave my upper cheek area every day (the only part of my face that I'll shave against the grain) and my neck once every two or three days. The rest I trim (w/ a beard trimmer of course) once every two or three days w/ the number 2 setting. I like having a short beard.
I also feel that anything more than two blades shreds my face. The fewer the better. |

I hate that crap of 3000 blades on a single razor, totally unnecessary and nothing but a marketing gimmick. I use a Merkur safety razor and my face is babyass smooth
These you tube videos changed my life changed forever

I second the Dorco brand. Can't see the 6-bladers at my local Emart, but the 4-blade ones work good.
Plenty space between the blades which stop bristles getting jammed and giving razor rash.
I shave while in the shower, normally with shampoo for lubrication and a razor lasts a couple of weeks.
At my Emart they don't display Dorco razors with the rest of the imported razors, but the are normally down by one of the check-outs.
Seriously good and excellent value. |

I use Gilette Sensor Xcel with two blades that I brought from home. They're for sensitive skin I guess. The best blade I've ever used. Listen to the other guy a few posts before me, you don't need 5000 blades. It's a marketing gimmick!
Also, shave during or after you shower. Your beard is softer after or during. That's my advice for the day! |

That's my point too. I can fully appreciate bowing to convention when necessary, but when you can get away with it, and here in Korea most guys can get away with it, why subject your face to the daily scraping. But to each his own.
I am certainly no fan of the Taliban, but maybe they are on to something with their beard policy. ( a joke, only a joke!) |

Used to use sensor excel. I just shave enough, slide it across my face with the grain. I do use hot water towels, a brush and shaving stick to prepare. Got two weeks out of those
daimond ones about 3-4 weeks.
Switched to Mach 3 got about a month out of them.
When the 5 bladed Fusion came out they were cheaper than Mach 3 refills at the time so I tried them. Didn't notice any difference from the Mach 3s. Last about a month for me. I did actually ask the woman how many shaves you could get out of the fusions. She said at least 50! |

Gillette fixed the price of replacement blades at a stupidly high price years ago. Like, in the 80's. Each time they added another gimmick like an extra blade or "lubrastrip" they hiked the price more..........in actual fact, a replacement razor would be incredibly cheap to produce.
We pay about 2 dollars a piece for a small piece of plastic with some poor quality sharpened metal stuck in it. Thanks to the market leader, Gillette. |
