Hello all, recently moved English teacher to Daejeon. I'm wondering if there are any places anyone knows of that sells a good deal of Xbox360 games. I'm looking for Left 4 Dead, Halo 3 and Resident Evil 5 and that's pretty much it.

I've already checked out Home Plus and unfortunately there wasn't much in the way of my kind of games. Any other places like Emart carry a decent amount of games? How about Costco, I know that back in the states they carry a decent number of electronics.

I have bought the majority of my games at HomePlus, you can get quite a few games for 15,000 or 20,000 if they are just a year or two old. But the selection really varies from store to store...some stores will carry 50-60+ titles and other ones will literally have 10 games.

You can also buy games from other teachers on here.

If you don't care about spending a little extra money try www.playasia.com they will definitely have any games that you're looking for. Or you can buy games on www.gmarket.com but you might need a coworker to help you order.

Or you can go to the games market at the Yongsan Electronics market. It's in the basement of the second building from the station. They will have all those games. In English, too.

Of course it's in Seoul and not in Daejeon.

this is off-topic, but is there any downside to getting an xbox 360 modded and then using burned games like a previous poster mentioned?

thanks a bunch folks. I think I'm going to make a trip up to Seoul this evening. I don't think I'll have too much trouble finding the electronic market, but one thing I'm curious about, do they sell xboxes as well? I want to buy a 360 but I'm wondering if I'll be able to get a decent deal on it there. Is haggling an option? If not, I'll probably just purchase my games there so I won't have to lug the 360 all the way back home with me.

Also, can someone give a second opinion, is there a decent guaruntee that they'll have at LEAST one of the three games I mentioned (RE5, Halo3, Left 4 Dead)? If they don't have all three it's fine, I'd be satisfied to make the trip for one or two. It's been way too long since I've just chilled at home and played some xbox and I'm hankering for it this weekend. Darn sixth graders eat up all my energy.

I assume that the price is negotiable, especially if your looking for extra features e.g. Modding and burned games. Just remeber that you can score that stuff in the area behind Yongsan Station - not in the actual Mall itself. That's where you'll also find the best prices. It's also important to mention that you'll pay in cash, because that'll get them to lower the price a tiny bit as well.

I was there about a week ago and they had all 3 of those titles in abundance. I wish I could say the same about stuff like the new Guitar Hero/Rockband...

Any issues buying a new XBox in Korea, not knowing the Korean language, and using XBox Live?

no problem man, I bought a new one and the first option is to set the language. and then you can import your gamertag settings.
