I was questioned and accused this morning of using PS school phone 5 weeks ago to call other countries, but have never touched a school phone for any reason let alone attempt to place an international call. When I ask what countries, they wouldn't say. I'm the only foreigner around here that I know of and don't have a clue who would call other countries from my school. This leaves me scratching my head today.

I stay up late many nights in Korea using Skype on my home computer which I pay for and then I have morning classes which were moved to after lunch just for today. After my morning classes, it's too late at night in America to call home using Skype or any other kind of phone.

I'm appalled that they would make this claim as I've never touched school phones for any reason. If they say anything else or take money, I'm going to demand proof and get even more upset with them.

Why don't you find out who they called? (what country etc)

After that, further action can be taken.

If the number is a US number, the simplest solution would be to call that number and see if the person speaks Korean. If so, you are in the clear ...if not, then you look pretty guilty Wink

Yes, I immediately asked what countries and the number, but was simply told, "someone called other countries on March 10th and you suspect."

You damned right I want the number(s). That pisses me off that they accuse me, but would show the proof. I honestly didn't do it.

Mine can't even dial mobile phone numbers in this country without some sort of number sequence before the number. I would laugh if it was one of the Korean teachers calling their kid abroad on the school's dime.

It doesn't take Inspector Clouseau to solve this mystery. Get the number and go to a reverse phone book.

It was the boss! They fessed up that boss man called a relative in California. 1 hour ago I demanded the number to call it myself as to clear me and they just admitted it was the boss calling an inlaw. I wasn't going to let it rest until we got to the bottom of it.

No funny bones about it.

Get an apology. Well, demand one, anyway. They won't do it, but you should make them god-damned sure that you're pissed that YOU were the first person they accused... without any actual evidence.

I use international phone cards. You call a toll free number, enter a pin, and then dial the phone number.

I've used it at work on my office phone, to call England during winter camp, but I'm fairly sure they won't show up on the school phone bill, because of the phone card. At least, I hope they won't. Embarassed Laughing Laughing

Nothing like using another person's thread to tell us more useless info about your useless life, eh?

I think there's some connection charge when using the cards? very minimal anyway

No, it's like making a local call. It's covered under the basic monthly fee.

At least mine always was, I suppose there may be different kinds of cards though.

Robot,

I'm glad you got to the bottom of it. You were right to demand to know where the call was made to and what number it was. In the end it put pressure on the right person to confess. No one at the school, not even the boss, should be using the phone to make personal international calls. That's insane.
