Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone girl or guy would like to show a newbie the ropes of Seoul...I have been here close to a week and was wanting to learn how to get to Itaewon, Hongdae, Sinchon...I have yet to try and use the Subway system..We could get lunch/dinner, shop, go to a bar, whatever. I am 23 years old and have just arrived here from Charlotte, North Carolina...I am located near Myeongi University and i think the closest stop for me is Hongje station..I have just been working and going out to eat with boss, co-workers which has been fun but I would like to meet more people...Hit me up if you are interested...I am a friendly, fun guy and am in good physical shape (average to above average looking if you are a girl reading this)...

If you're living near Myongji, your closest subway stop will be ChungSan, which is on the same line as Itaewon. Your neighborhood will get old really fast as there's not too much to do in that neck of the woods. Best to get used to getting out and about now. You are close to the World Cup Stadium, though, which is a good place to catch a game or just hang out. They have a movie theater and some other stuff to do around there, too.

For something closer, check out the neighborhood around YonShinNae Station. Not bad, but you'll want to go with some people.

There is also a bus that runs from in front of the university and goes to HongDae/HapJung Station(s). HongDae and Shinchon are great party neighborhoods, but again, you'll probably want to go with some people.

If you live near HongJe Station, you can also head out on the orange #3 line to Chongro 3-Ga. The back alleys between Chongro 3-Ga and Chongro 2-Ga have a load of bars and eats. Again, though, best to go with a crowd.

Itaewon is your best bet if you're going out on your own. Hunker down at a pub and meet some people. Shouldn't take too long.

Poster above, what's up with your spelling of stations? This guy is new, your wacky old spelling is just confusing.

OP.....
Yeonsinnae
Hapjeong
Sinchon
Jeungsan
Jongno-3-ga

Sorry, not being a *beep*, you gave him a nice, helpful reply! Smile

My bad. Every map I have is just in Korean so I had to wing it. And I've been here for over 15 years to boot. Good post and hopefully helpful to the OP. Cheers, P.R.
