Police Fail to Pursue Sex Scandal List

By Park Si-soo
Staff Reporter

A police announcement on the investigation into the suicide of actress Jang Ja-yeon in March has raised more questions than answers.

Police booked nine people out of the 20 questioned but failed to identify who the late actress was forced to provide entertainment and sexual intercourse to.

None of the corporate figures and media executives suspected of having sex with the late Jang have been booked. Police said they were unable to find concrete evidence to the claim that the late actress was forced to provide sex in completing their investigation Friday.......

Not that I believe in any way that what the actress was forced to do by her entertainment agency is acceptable, however, if it was the AGENCY forcing/blackmailing her to sleep with these other figures, then I fail to see how those VIP's and other recipients of her services could be charged or held responsible for any of it. From their point of view, she was a willing partner.

Those corporate figures and media execs may have known in their mind that she was being coerced into sleeping with/entertaining them, but unless they were actually raping her/forcing her to have sex, what crime did they commit other than perhaps than cheating on their wives? Seems to me the AGENCY holds the majority of the responsibility.

Those executives and other VIP's may be sleazy dirtbags, but I don't believe being a dirtbag is illegal.

If those dirtbags were married, then they broke the law sleeping with her.
Adultery is illegal in Korea.

Then that would mean the police along with half the country would be in jail.

While I am aware adultery is illegal, as I mentioned other than that crime, I cant see how they could be prosecuted for anything else, and I highly doubt such VIP's would even have an attempt made against them by the police in regards to adultery.

I just thought I'd reiterate the adultery thing to add extra stench to the state of the legal system in this country.

Kim Sung-hoon, the head of her management company, the guy who beat her up if she refused to prostitute herself to these dirty old moguls, fled to Japan in December. The police are seeking his extradition, and until they can get their hands on him, the investigation will have reached a dead end (no pun intended).
