Congratulations - on all three counts. Which one of them makes you feel the oldest?

hmmm... the 2221 days in Korea I'd say, given the newbies I know around here, many of course who are younger, but even the fortysomething newbies gush about things like children do, surprised and shocked by the same old, same old - making me feel like i've been around forever

i actually have nothing against getting older. i'm just wondering what the hell happened to my thirties? that decade just whizzed by compared to my previous two.

Laughing absolutely not! i remember when i was young thinking how silly it was people worried about getting old. it's natural. it's inevitable and it's downright pathetic to see people try to somehow avoid it, hide it, fear it

i always thought of myself as a 45 year old trapped in a youngum's body. i'm just heading to when i belong Very Happy

but to get to 40 without a wife and kids means that if it's gonna be in my life then i'm gonna be a 60+ year old dad at my kid's graduation - like a grandparent

my best bud from grade school had three kids by the time he was 25 and is nowadays expecting grandkids and an empty nest; another friend is retiring! (from the military after 20 years of service)

just strange

Fret not. 40 is the new 32.
And as for being old at your kids' grad ceremonies...true, true, but still, by then, 60 will be the new 42.
Happy Birthday man

I just turned 41 and feel old now. A year apart and from the same province maybe we played some hockey against each other. We use to play tournies on the island sometimes.

I find the 40's to be perplexing and not sure what they will be like.

I'm right behind you. Who cares about someone our age not being married and having kids. This is the year 2009. The 50's and 60's are over! Did you ever stop to wonder why you never got married or had kids in the first place? I know you had opportunities. It could be worse. You could be divorced, paying child support and or alimony. I know plenty of those cases from people who were married in their early 20's. As far as I'm concerned, we are ahead of our time in that category. I feel as time goes by, marriage will become less and less common. Take a good look at what's going on in the developed world in regard to the male-female relationships. Things are changing way too fast.

Van - You are absolutely 100% correct. It flies by. I was told it gets faster and faster. Wonderfull, ey!!

I was wondering this myself? I have a little time left before I truely find out. Shit!

Its true that 40 is inevitable but 6 years in Korea is hardly so.
