I'm growing some herb plants indoors. I have rosemary, spearmint, peppermint, and applemint. I also have some very very young lavender and basil growing right now.
There are some bugs flying around my plants. Two kinds. One is a small fruit-fly looking thing, they fly around kind of erratically, I call them drunk fruit flies. I don't know if they are harmful, but they are really annoying.
The other kind of bugs are very small and white. They developed pretty suddenly and seem concentrated around my healthiest plant, the spearmint.
I want them dead! How do I get rid of them? Also, they are herbs, so I don't want to do anything that will prevent me from eating the leaves.
I've always thought I had a black thumb and more of a talent for killing plants than growing them, but I've actually been doing really well until these bugs came along. So I am so determined that this works out. On top of everything else, I really want herbs to cook with, so I want these plants healthy and surviving. Soon there will be parsley joining the young plants, but I'm afraid the young plants will get the bugs and that they are a lot more fragile and will die if the bugs are at all harmful.
Advice, PLEASE! |
