I searched the forums for about an hour and couldn't find anything on public transportation (especially in and around Seoul). I know there are some great websites, but they're in Korean, and google maps works ok, but is there anything else? |

this is a subway map for point to point directions in seoul:
http://www.smrt.co.kr/Train/Subwaymap/Eng/Subwaymap.jsp
for everything else (buses, trains, etc), you can call 02-1330 from your cell phone, it's free 24 hours svc in english for just about anything: what bus to take, where to get tickets for an event, how to find the closest abc mart, etc. |

Try calling 1330 and ask what you want to know. They don't know it all, but they know more about it than we do. I use the tourist line to get bus schedules. |

That subway map is awesome, thanks! Now all I need is something like that for the buses, or preferably something that combines the two. And thanks for the phone #s, I'll give those a try. |

Oh yeah, I've seen that website but the problem is it only works on Internet Explorer. I use Linux, but I do have Windoze on another partition but I don't want to restart and boot into it just to see this site. I could get ie4Linux but it's slow and whatnot. It's probably my best bet, though. |

Korea doesn't know the FireFox or the Mozzilla, it puts all trust into Microsoft as even Korean microcomputers are Microsoft driven. America is still looked highly upon for microsoftmicrocomputer software, but not hardware of any sort; just hardware outsourcing orders. |

I crumbled and downloaded ies4Linux so I can emulate IE. However, I can't get any bus routes outside of Seoul (I live in Jukjeon, about 20km south of Seoul, and I'm pretty sure when my friend showed this site to me a couple weeks ago he was able to. Is anyone else able to? Is there something special I must do? I'm emulating IE 6, so does the browser need to be 7 or 8? |

On the topic of public transportation, can anyone tell me whether it is possible to take a bicycle on a train in Korea? (I mean the normal mungeunwha trains, not the KTX) |

Like many Korean websites, this one isn't easily found when conducting a Google search for public transportation in Korea. It is, however, a pretty good resource. Bookmark it and use it.
