I think a lot of people on this site would benefit from watching the first Matrix movie again.

From the posts they are so many sleeping people stuck in their left brained conditioned minds, struggling to support the very system that enslaves them.

WAKE UP- there is about 90% more of your brain and being that you can use.

WAKE UP THE SYSTEM DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU IT WANTS TO USE YOU.

Quit defending your enslavement and set your mind free.

Some very good words of wisdom there in that first movie.

Your happiness is a state of mind and most people are waiting for the future to be happy. Guess what tomorrow you will still be waiting.

I understand your thinking and it sounds very liberating if it was totally possible. Unfortunately, social conformity has to come into play and that goes against the total cerebral liberation you speak of.

Yes the matrix is all around us but most of us can only do so much to fight the powers that be. I'd like to think I am as free as one can possibly be, but there are so many factors I still have to accept and deal with to live a normal life. Whatever a normal life is?

I think most people on Dave's are just venting frustration. Teaching in the Hermit Kingdom can be trying at times. I understand this and view what I read and post myself in relation to the above stated. Dave's is therapy for me. It's a lot cheaper than a couch doctor and much more entertaining. I do believe the discontent on this board can be viewed as negative, but again it comes down to one's perception. Are some threads just plain "Bitch Fests" or good old fashioned western style discussions?
