Yup I'm a biggun. I didn't bring enough casual clothes with me.
I am sure this question has been asked a billion times but: Where can a fat guy go to buy clothes in Busan? I am aware of Itaewon and might be taking a trip there if I have to. I've also checked out Texas Street, but I don't trust the Russians, and all the clothes were way over priced and ugly.
A positive (but a negative) of living here is that I am losing weight but now my clothes don't fit like they should. Anyone know where a good place to buy 2-3xl clothing or a decent tailor? |

Remember to add a couple Xs for Korean sizes. I was an XL in North America, but here apparently a 3XL (110 shirt size) depending on some shirt sizes.
If you were a genuine 3XL in the states you're not going to have much luck.
Dootah in seoul (near dongdaemun) has actual western sizes in some shops. An XL is a western XL and the pants come in western sizes (above a 34).
These used to be confined to the basement, but they've renovated, you have to hit each shop and check them out. |

I'm dealing with the exact same thing. I keep losing weight, but I'm still too big for Korean sized clothing. And since I'm still losing, how much money do I want to spend on clothes that (hopefully) won't fit in a couple of months?
I came across a place in Itaewon called "Big Boss." It says it's a Women's Clothing Store but they have all men's clothes on the second floor. Jeans up to size 50.
If you leave Itaewon station exit #4, you'll find it a little past Outback Steakhouse.
I got a pair of jeans and a couple of polo style (collared three button, short-sleeved) shirts there for 81,000 won.

I'm losing weight too. So far I've just had to have my pants taken in. The tailor at Homeplus charges around 8,000 won/pair to take in the waist.
I have thought about what's going to happen when I can't take them in anymore. I've seriously considered an overnight trip to Guam just to shop. |

When I lived in Busan, I bought some clothes in Gukje Market in Nampodong. There's a few stalls that sell bigger sized cothes. They are very competetive when it comes to foreigners which works out for you because you can bargain. Alot of the clothes are "gangster" type, but there are some really nice shirts, jeans and dress pants in there.
If you go past the Millenium statue and walk down the diagonal corrdior, you will come out to the food isle. Go up just past the temple and turn left after you pass the road with the food stalls. It should be down in that area.
Suerte!

You have to be thin as a rail to fit in Korean sizes. That means anyone with weight- fat or muscle- needs to order online. See if you can find a Korean to help you. Many Korean sites block foreigners from ordering. |

I have a boatload of Hawaiian shirts purchased in Itaewon. Many shops there continually have a 10,000 won sale on Hawaiian shirts. My kids all think I'm crazy, especially when I wear them in the winter, but they look pretty good covering my beer belly and they're a lot cheaper than the few alternatives available locally or trying to order online.
One note, I'll admit to buying underwear once from Ebay. |

I order all my clothes through Eddie Bauer. EB has lots of big sizes and the shipping is super fast - literally 3-5 business days from ship date. When you shop them, check online for EB coupons. I usually save enough using an online coupon to pay for the shipping, usually 25-40 USD. |

I guess if I were a fat bastard, I would get my clothes custom made here. They'll fit better than anything you've ever worn, and they'll be half the price of "designer" labels off the rack. "Round 40,000 for a custom made shirt (dress or casual), around 60,000 for a slick pair of trousers. Even as a non-fatty, I'll never go any other route (other than jeans) besides custom (here in Korea). |
