I bought a nifty Nikon S10 camera 2 years ago for $340 US new and enjoyed this little piece of science fiction come true. It's a really cool high quality point and shoot camera.

Well, even though it's lightly used, I'm thinking about upgrading to something even higher tech to film the pyramids of Egypt and such, so I researched on eBay how much they're selling for to find it's $400. I would anticipate a good use one to be $200 to $250, but no one seems to be selling used. Guess owners are satisfied as am I, but I want HD video.

And hold on...$500 on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_p?url=search-alias%3Dphoto&field-keywords=nikon+s10&x=0&y=0

How in the world can it be worth more today new than it was 2 years ago? What's the resale value of a good used Nikon S10?

Did I already choose the best point and shoot camera that's came out in the history of digital point and shoot cameras? I'm very satisfied with it's still image quality minus low light condition shots, but want an HD video camera. Guess, I could keep it and buy a HD video cam or I could get a new point and shoot that does HD video. Is my S10 just slightly less than DSLR with still image quality as it works really well? Great macro shots too. Are newer point and shoots any better with still imaging? This seems to be a great little camera, but I want 720p HD video.

Probably because Nikon has been raising all of it's prices this year due to low profits.

The camera is alright, but not the best ever. But if it does the job for you, that's all that matters. But your right, that it is way over priced right now! There are a lot stronger cameras on the market for less.

The Canon SX1 is a good hybrid between stills and full HD movies.

I personally mainly shoot with DSLR's, but the SX1 is kind of like a mini "DSLR" in a way. You can have manual controls with the SX1 if you want, they are just all digitized. Not sure how much that would cost you in Korea though, with the exchange rate not in our favor.

Great suggestion, it's cheaper in Korea as it's listing for 655,000 Won while on eBay in the US, it's like $640. Looks like a great point and shoot, minus it being big and cumbersome like a DSLR. I want a great camera like this, but don't want to look rich when traveling. The Canon SX1 does full 1080p HD video, but not 720p. First, I need a computer that will run 1080p that has an HDMI extermal monitor port.

Get yourself an AIPTEK GO 720. I got one a year ago. Absolutely love it.
HD video, and small form factor.
The only negative thing is its a little hard on batteries, but the company sells a pack of 3 or 4 batteries for like $20.

A year ago when I bought it, I got:
Camera
5 x batteries
4 GB SD Card
Tripod
small protective case
docking station
AV to TV Cables
independent charging base (plus the camera can charge a battery off USB, so two at once)
car charger

For around $400.

Now its $149.99 for the camera, I'd definitely pick up the batteries and the charger though. The rest of the stuff is up to your preference. Don't bother with Ebay everyone on ebay is selling the thing for $159.
They have a short sample video on the merchant page, and this thread has all the info you'll probably ever need about the camera:
