Oh well, I'm not disappointed to be headed to Bangkok and hopefully on to Ankor Wat. |
Did you make it? |
I made it several times. |

Due to my holiday schedule (or lack thereof) this year, I'd have to say the Philippines are looking good for Chuseok. Maybe Fiji?

Philippines is without doubt my next big southeast asian country explore-fest whenever I get a chance. Just wanna island-hop throughout the Visayas region for a month or so.
*sigh*.. someday.. no plans anytime in the immediate future. |

one of the korean teachers i work with is taking a holday in iran!
i am so envious!!! i have asked her to take me too! at least - to bring me back an 'ud (middle-eastern fretless lute).
i thought it pretty game of her to go to iran as a single woman. amazing! |

For whatever reasons.. Ive been thinking of Cambodia recently.. just to hangout and really get to know Phnom Pehn and Sinoukeville (or whatever its name).. Ive been reading too much of the www.khmer440.com forum as of recently.. as well as other webblogs out there..
Id also really like to get to know Thailand really well. Plus the food is amazing in both countries.. and Thailand is so international and so developed now.. that is actually attractive.
Im a bit curious to experience more of Malaysia as well. Ive been to all 3 above mentioned countries.. but never was able to give any of them adequate time as Id like. |

Where's the option for "have no desire whatsoever to ever go to Southeast Asia"? |

Hmm...I was also considering Iran for this summer's vacation. It looks like I have managed to convince my traveling companion to go to Myanmar, though, so things still look promising. |

Very strange! Or Europe either? Odd!!
I'm still on for the Philippines for Chuseok and Myanmar and possibly Laos for contract's end. I would LOVE to go back to Cambodia though. That place was tops. Tops, I say!! |

Im playing with the idea of going to southeast asia this Winter.. I have no money.. but tempted to try to make it work somehow.
Thinking of tying this masters degree with development in southeast asia.. maybe globalization or tourism or something..
It would give me a purpose to do research.. hehe.. hmm.. maybe Thailand, Cambodia, and the Philippines would sound very nice!! |

I read a book about a Lao family back in CA that was filled of stories of Laos that really made me want to go check the country out. I also heard rave reviews of the country when I was traveling around Vietnam. |
Yeah, and nobody at Dave's voted for it in this poll.
Another reason why Laos is so tempting.
But then I tend to pine for the relatively more obscure, off-the-beaten path countries like Ecuador, Sri Lanka, and Iceland. |

Believe it or not, some white guys travel for reasons other than the sex. Although I'll grant you that the white guys you see during your own sex tours to the Philippines are probably also looking to get laid cheaply.
Why would any white guy living in the metaphoric land of milk(maids) and honey need to travel to S.E. Asia to get laid on the cheap? |
