Bogey666, I think you are misleading people here.

Maybe you are right in generalizing the marriage style in korea, but it is not true in THIS case.

Lets see, the couple moved to the USA soon after they got married, they had stayed in America for 10 years to study, he was probably a post-doctor or a researcher in a laboratory. I dont think he had many chances to get access to a room salon or Noraebang.

To a lot of people, marriage without sex is unimaginable, but there are more and more couples in the world who are living in a strict platonic way. Most of them are not from Korea, but from Japan and it is pandemic around the world.

The couple were happily married until the man came back home last time, since they didnt have sex, they had no kids, which in Korea, actually in all Confucian country, is a big deal.

The family would do whatever to get rid off "a hen that does lay". Spending too much is just an excuse...

panda the only details of the story I know is what we in that link, and I don't remember it saying anything about then moving to the US.. etc.

it just mentions 10 years.. and her spending.

so I put together the most "likely" scenario - though that doesn't necessarily means it's the correct one Very Happy
