In my experience, a number of Italian restaurants in Seoul have good pizza. The delivery chains, not so much but it's also like that where I'm from. |

Yummy. Korea would be right if it were one Korea with no communists. The North's leadership are only mimicking their enemies and 99.9% of NORKS never seen good pizza and beer nor internet, hand phones, and books full of factual knowledge. While the NORK regime elite's enjoy expensive Western style things, they claim to hate Westerners as they oppress their people from having anything. Not even phone or computer. No reason to be jealous as it's only the well heeled corrupt suits enjoying good beer, pizza, and the trappings of affluence while the majority starve and work hard for nothing as they live in extreme poverty serving a pot bellied dysfunctional leadership with dumb nonsensical laws and a lot of guns to back them up. Kim Jong-Il might give his gunmen guards forcing oppression on the masses a little beer and pizza on the side, but the majority get nothing, but threats of torture and starvation if they act out of line while they're expected to just toil every day.
Oddly, I found American style men's underwear at Emart made in DPRK while South Korea is free, but doesn't do real Western style in any department, becuase they have to be original in an attempt to state their identity as, "Korean." Just produce good products and quit the nonsense of chemicalized food and drink as well only offering synthetic fabric panties for men. |

That looks like some good ass pizza. It is indeed similar, at least in aesthetically, to what they eat in Italy. Oh man, I could go for some pizza right now... |

Strange...I believe that the NORKS will eventually win the cultural battle with the South, if not the political one. What does the South have to offer other than cheap western imitations and an overly consumerist society? Koreans are overall more "North" in attitude, even if they don't admit it. They'd be so much more at ease with the "Chosun Juche" mentality than true western-style liberal ideology which cannot really ever happen. |

Jong-Il imported chefs from Italy a few years back to teach Koreans how to make pizza. He also bought several pizza ovens from Italy. The Korean pizza chefs in Pyongyang were trained by Italians. Jong-Il loved "real" Italian pizza so much -- so basically pizza in North Korea is about as real as it can get. |

The photos were released by the NORK Korean Central News Agency, probably a little doctored, to save face. Do you know face? It is Korean culture. |

Probably the first authentic Italian food in the whole of Korea!
I went to an Italian restauraunt in Seohyeon and ordered the canneoli stuffed with ricotta cheese served with a spicy sauce - the chef was trained in Italy - and the cretin came out of the kitchen and warned it might be 'too spicy' for me.
Where do these people get off?
'I have cooked and ate more Italian dishes than you - I will be fine!' said I... |

Korea has yet to master the 'crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside' style crust. It's all soggy and floppy to me, like NY pizza... Family Pizza and Young-Gu's are the only decent pizza places where I live. Mr. Pizza is disgusting and Chicago pizza might be the worst pizza joint. They don't deserve that name. |

Domino's, Pizza Hut, Mr. Pizza are all crap as someone already stated. It's crap back in the States as well.
It may not be the best pizza in Seoul but Costco pizza is pretty good. Go to Costco and get a large combo pizza to go for only 12000 won. It's the same quality as Costco back in the States.
I enjoy the mom and pop pizza parlors, like Villa Palermo, back in Chicago but Dorthy you're not in Kansas any more.
Go to Costco Korea to get directions to one of their stores.
