Yeah... that's pretty much my problem with organized religion... it's perfectly content to sit there and never adapt to new ideas...

Anyone remember the seen from "Dogma"?

Chris Rock says, "I just think people should have ideas. It's alot easier to change an idea than it is a belief."

The 13th apostle had wisdom he did.

It is possible another teacher gets paid more and the director mixed up the amounts.

Hmm... and to think... it used to be "true" that the world was flat, white people were superior to all others, and leeches were the best cure for diahrea

Glad those never changed anyway.

My boss overpaid me once by 60,000 won. I returned the money the next day. Three months later at the end of the contract I got invited to spend the day with his family at the beach. Plus I was also told should I ever need a job I should consider applying there. It does tend to "solidify" your position a bit more and may make at least one director realize that way-gooks aren't out to screw every last bit of cash they can from their employers. This in turn may prompt them to treat us a bit more humanely.

And people wonder why things don't get better for "teachers" here. Rolling Eyes

By the way... funny story I'm reminded of:

Every year, missionaries come to the University of Maryland and walk around passing out free bibles...

One such day, I was walking along next to a dorm and all of a sudden, I nearly get hit in the head by a falling bible as it lands at my feet. Sign from God? Nah, just a freshman that had collected too many of the free books...

There's 2 perspectives to everything mate.

No, those things were never "true". They were "beliefs".

Actually, I'm rather glad that my salary hasn't been confused with any of the other teachers... I make nearly twice as much as the three Korean teachers...

Actually, I've heard that Chinese teachers only make around 600,000 a month. Ouch.

How do you know what we believe now to be "true" i.e. the bible, god, etc. aren't just beliefs?

By the way, I'm not saying they're not true... because while I don't believe they are, I accept that they could very well be...

The Korean teachers are making 1.1 as I'm making 2.0 (hence the "nearly" twice as much)

True, I can see that. Include your housing and you could say you are making more.

If you invade another country it doesnt make it right even if you tell yourself its for your own self preservation. Did Japan give anything back to Korea that they stole without being forced to? Uh, dont think so.

Are you still upset with how you managed to prove nothing in the last thread and were soundly trounced by a wall of logic and reasoning, and then you were completely humiliated when myself and others showcased how Korea had done far worse things to Japan previously thus turning your own arguments, stance, and opinion against you?

Again, "give" implies intent.

Well that is the funny thing about money right. If they give it to me in an envelope with their hands, one could argue it was intended. If they do it through a bank, there is no actually way to ensure what the intent was.

Now don't get me wrong, I am going with the 100,000won thing here. Logic and reasoning do have a purpose and if I got an over payment of 1mil or 500k or something substantial, I of course would ask. But when you think about 100k won, it really isn't much, and looking at the time of year, I'd just think it was a new year's bonus...

Isn't good manners to say "thank you" after recieving a bonus? I assume your aren't/wouldn't acknowledge this new found money.
