Can some please educate me on why MMORPG is dam hot right now?

Not a new phenomenon in Korea but seems to be gaining some real traction in the US...Corporate America seems to be salivating at this growing community/service.

It's a cheap source for hours and hours and hours of mindless fun... Plus everything you've ever read about escaping into an alternate reality where you can make yourself into anyone/thing you want...

It stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game.

World of Warcraft is an example.

Because the profits from long term subscriptions can be insane...You can milk an easy $80-$300+ out of the average buyer of your game as opposed to $50 for a non-mmorpg. So as long as it's not a complete failure, you can re-coup your loses long term.
