|
|
On Wednesday, I got a postal note on my apartment door. My Mum had sent my proof of residency certificate for the Korean tax office, by registered post from England.
On Thursday, my new co-teacher phoned the postal guy and she said he will deliver it to our school, maybe today.
After regular class today, I asked her if she knew when it will be delivered. She asked if it was urgent. I said it wasn't, but I wanted to make sure I get it, as it took a while for it to be processed.
This is something I am ignorant about.
If for whatever reason that postal person doesn't deliver the letter to our school, how do I find out where (which post office/depot) the letter is being kept? So I can collect it.
How long will the post office hold onto it and what will they do if it isn't collected? Send it back to England?
Thank you in advance. |

Most likely, you need to sign for the item as it's certified or registered mail. If you don't pick up the item by the deadline, it will be returned to the sender. The deadline is the date in Paragraph 1 on the slip (the paragraphs are numbered). It'll be in month/day/24-hour clock format--for example: 1월 3일 15시에서 17시 for January 3, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There should be a few phone numbers on the slip. The one you really need to know is the one stamped in the lower right. That's the number for your local post office, the one attempting the delivery. Get a Korean-speaking friend to call the post office and then go there in person with your slip and your ARC. |
