With this player you can watch movies with subtitles.
I downloaded The Man Without a Past as I heard it was really good, but It's finnish. Then I found the above player. I downloaded the movie and the .srt off Overnet. You open both with the player and presto, subtitles. I also noticed there's a lot of Korean movies on Overnet and ENG srt files (such as My Sassy Girl). There's a whole world of new movie possibilties for you with this player and Overnet. |

Media Player 6.4, 7, 8, 9 will all play subtitles movies as well; it's really not nothing new. You DO have to have the .srt file if it's just a movie you download from the internet.
WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc will all play them too as if they were DVD movies with subtitle options.
A good small app is a modified version of Windows Media Player 6.4 called Media Player Classic and will do it as well ..... very good streamlined program that does nearly EVERYTHING |

Well of course those Media Players will play subtitles off DVDs...
I'm referring to pirated movies off peer-to-peers. You need to download the .srt and you need a player that will sync them.
By the way, the player I linked to is a totally cool free player. I love the simple style. All the capabilities and more you could ever want are with it if you need them. |

Yes, I'm talking about the same thing !!
They will play the same pirated movies from the internet .. assuming you have the .srt files.
All the ones I said will play them the same way you are discussing -- I was comparing them to DVD's .... not talking about playing actual DVD's
They do the same as yours ....
Oh bother |

Oh, I didn't know that? If I download a ripped DVD, then the regular players will show the subtitles? I guess I never bothered to try because I never downloaded foreign films. I know The Man Without a Past didn't have them included, but it's a DIVX, not a ripped DVD. |

The best option of the ones I mentioned is the Media Player Classic, found here
http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/
The DVD software players (and the MPC I mention) will all play standard non-DVD avi, mpg, etc movies along with the associated .srt subtitle file
No problemo, it's works fine, I've been watching some Korean things lately and English movies with crappy sound to figure out what's being said |
